This method is produced from an ‘off the shelf’ coloured vinyl which we purchase by the meter. At Gecko we use a high-quality 7-year vinyl which is durable and resilient to UV damage, shrink back and cracking. Many different colours are available but obviously are unlikely to identically match a particular Pantone / CMYK colour. The vinyl is run through a vinyl cutter/ Plotter.
Once the letters/ images are cut the excess vinyl is pulled/ weeded away and the letters/ images are covered with an overlay tape that will keep all of the elements together so they can be applied to the window as in effect, a large sticker. Other colours can then be layered to enhance the design.
Vinyl lettering is a great cost-effective way to sign write your vehicle and is possibly the most popular and frequently used method.
Alternatively, we can digitally print lettering onto a 7-year vinyl to match your branding guidelines. After printing the vinyl is then laminated for protection and contour cut using a plotter.
